resumé fr: L'auteur aborde l'évaluation des psychothérapies d'après les principes de l'Evidence-based medicine tels qu'ils émergent dans le rapport de l'Inserm sur l'efficacité comparée des psychothérapies cognitivo-comportementales, psychodynamiques et familiales où seules les études cliniques randomisées ou contrôlées et les méta-analyses ont été retenues. La méthodologie et les conclusions du rapport ont soulevé de nombreuses objections. Une évaluation appropriée ne doit pas se fonder uniquement sur des études fondées sur les principes de l'EBM: critères d'inclusion restrictifs, réduction des variables, non prise en compte des biais des études primaires, amplification des résultats en fonction du nombre d'études. Les recherches futures devraient intégrer la réalité complexe des données subjectives et rendre compte, par des études de cas individuels, de la difficulté de la quantification des changements psychothérapiques. Des remarques épistémologiques concernant la scientificité des démarches évaluatives sont abordées.

| resumeang: The author deals with the psychotherapy's assessment according to the principles of the Evidence-based medicine that emerge from the Inserm's report about the comparative efficacy of cognitivo-behavioral, psychoanalytical and family therapies, in which only randomised clinical trials and meta-analyses were accepted. The methodology and the report's conclusions raised many objections. A proper assessment should not be founded only on the EBM principles, i.e. restrictive inclusion criteria, reduction of variables, increasing results in relation to the number of studies, absence of attempts to take into account the devices of the primary studies. Future research should integrate the complex reality of subjective data and, through studies of individual cases, give an account of the difficulties related to the quantification of psychotherapeutic changes. Epistemological comments are made about the scientific nature of this method of evaluation. |
