resumeang: Comments on the research of 3 studies which deal with group therapy with children and adolescents: G. N. Clarke et al (see record 1999-10534-011), M. H. Kellner and B. H. Bry (see record 2000-07190-001), and K. V. Snyder et al (see record 1999-01656-015). The author of this commentary believes that these 3 studies do not assess the group process involved in the groups, which may have played a major role in the changes noted. Despite their differences, difficulties, and limitations, all 3 of these studies provide evidence of the effectiveness of group therapy interventions in the treatment and management of some of the affective and emotional crises experienced by many adolescents over the course of adolescence.
